ASTORIA

+ ASTORIA +

If the first thing you think about is Greek food, then you're not alone. When I mention Astoria, I'm always reminded of "the best Greek food ever!" And in my opinion, it is correct. Astoria has been going through demographic changes since the 1800s. However, by the late 1960s, the neighborhood had the world's largest population of Greeks outside of Greece itself, which definitely attributed to the belief that you'll find the best Greek food in New York City here. But, while all this is true, Astoria has expanded and become known for it's restaurants and cuisine in general. Some of the most authentic, ethnic food in New York City is in this neck of the woods. That includes gyros, pizza, halal, empanadas, pad thai, curry, and so much more. Basically, come hungry! Astoria will not only fill your stomach, but fill your heart as well. And yes, I may be bias because it’s the neighborhood I call home, but it has loads of culture and excitement, making it a true vibrant neighborhood adored by many.
